Position Summary

Reporting to Head of Mobile Product Management of our New Zealand business, this role in instrumental in building thought leadership and go-to-market programs, that drive the achievement of the Mobile Experience's Revenue, Sell-out and Profit objectives.

- Contribute to expanding the product's market coverage by setting up a product line-up operation plan.
- Contribute to maximizing sales and minimizing loss by managing product lifecycle and developing pricing strategy to meet the target sales for the product.

Role and Responsibilities

Target Achievement

  • Achievement of the division's revenue, sell out, margin and market share growth objectives.
  • Preparing a Go To Market strategy aligned to business objectives for the flagship product portfolio, including: Retail price and net invoice price setting; Manage Product life cycle; Defines demand generation activities across B2B & B2C channels including non-traditional channels; assisting the Marcoms team on shaping differentiated & Integrated marketing communications.
  • Sales and Operation planning to achieve company KPl’s.

Portfolio Management / Demand Generation

  • Define relevant Product architecture and support long range planning with customers.
  • Ensure proactive life cycle management while managing EOL to maximise revenue and profitability.
  • Partner with Commercial team on B2B/B2C launch planning to ensure best in class go to market plans.
  • Own and drive long-term marketing and promotional programs for the category in all routes to market including B2B while defining new growth channels.
  • Ongoing monitoring of competitor portfolio and retailer portfolio strategies to define risks and opportunities.
  • Development of launch briefs for all product launches to ensure relevant depth of understanding and expertise to set Commercial team up for launch success.
  • Participate in monthly commercial reviews to ensure latest Samsung thinking and alignment to internal stakeholders for excellence in Commercial planning.
  • Work closely with Contents Providers to ensure device ecosystem is developing in apps and content.
  • AP2 demand planning in conjunction with the sales and SCM team to reach consensus.
  • Work with the technical engineers to ensure Samsung has 100% compliance with Regulatory requirements.
  • Work with relevant teams to make sure product information on Websites/brochures and other collateral is correct.

Pricing Management

  • Weekly monitoring of competitor activity to define risks and opportunities for Samsung.
  • Work closely with Finance Manager and Business Manager to establish price modelling across Samsung launches and through product life cycle.
  • Support Commercial team in retailer price negotiations through product life cycle.
  • Ensure up to date price lists are maintained for the Product Group including price moves, analysis and price protection calculation.

Product + Solution Knowledge

  • Conduct product training as required to product trainers, internal departments and external training teams. Work with product training team to ensure best in class training programs are implemented.
  • Communicate with appropriate Export teams and Head Office in Korea regarding necessary information related to products at the direction of the HOD.
  • Liaise with Head Office regarding product development, market trends and market pressures.
  • Develop and provide specialist product knowledge for the Product range.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree qualified preferable, with minimum 5 years Product Management experience in the consumer electronics or FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience as the central coordinator for Product Management operations, demonstrating confidence in stakeholder interactions and attention to numerical details.
  • Possess strong Excel skills for detailed data analysis and reporting.
  • Intellectually curious, high energy and proactive at taking and driving initiative.
  • Displays resilience and quickly recovers from setbacks with a positive attitude.
  • Passion for technology.
