Manager, Line 2 Risk

As our business grows, so does our Line 2 Risk and Compliance Team. We are looking for an experienced risk practitioner to help us move faster by better understanding, managing and consciously taking on risk. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that is looking to innovate and help create and embed a modern, effective and efficient Regulatory Risk framework within a fast-moving and growing FinTech!

Together with our Senior Managers in Risk & Compliance in the ANZ Compliance team, you will work across all areas of Risk in Line 2, and partner closely with our colleagues in Risk Ops, Business Resilience, Privacy, Security, Legal and Compliance to improve our risk and control capabilities, improve the design and operation of controls, and build data driven, modern and efficient underlying risk processes.

Your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to:

• Partner with teams to bring our products to market and provide advice on risk related activities (e.g. risk assessments, controls development and assurance, incident investigations, operational resilience, issue remediation, risk framework delivery)
• Work closely with and support our colleagues in Business Continuity, Security and Privacy
• Develop, socialise and embed risk-related frameworks that meet regulatory expectations for ASIC-licenced products, are efficient, fit for purpose and manage the key risks appropriately
• Support the global implementation of the ERM software tool and using this and other tools perform data driven risk insights, controls testing, reporting and analysis for management
• Conduct risk assessments on new products, services and initiatives.
• Partnering with the Compliance team, manage risk and compliance reporting, maintain databases, registers and other records relating to operational risk management (e.g. maintaining project plans, logging incidents, completing risk assessment forms and action logs).
• Drive a strong risk culture and awareness in day-to-day business decisions.

Requirements

About You:

• 5+ years experience in a relevant or related role (first line of defence and second line of defence experience preferable), either in professional services, technology start-up or in a regulated financial services organisation with a focus on risk and controls
• Motivated and proactive, with proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
• Good understanding of risk practices and frameworks
• Great stakeholder management skills with ability to engage, influence and work cross-culturally
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
• Ability to partner with others to come up with pragmatic solutions to solve problems
• You thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous and ever changing environment
• Flexible and resilient, ability to manage multiple competing priorities and think holistically
• Good grasp on key technology and cloud architecture concepts
• Excellent eye for detail and also able to see the bigger picture
• You enjoy solving problems and are creative but also strategic, ensuring solutions are relevant and sustainable.
