The Senior Director of Enterprise Engineering is responsible for the security, delivery, and quality of PrimeRxโ€™s Enterprise product family. This individual will report directly to the CTO and lead a distributed software engineering organization comprised of FTEs and contractors in the US and abroad. This individualโ€™s success will be measured against high-quality attainment of product roadmap commitments, completion of assigned strategic objectives, and ability to build cross-functional partnerships across the organization.

What you will do

  • Lead multiple product development teams throughout the product lifecycle from requirements handoff through planning, development, testing, and release
  • Track and report on roadmap and project status and manage delivery risks relative to committed timelines
  • Monitor pharmacy-industry standards and partner with the product management team to plan efforts to remain ahead of relevant changes
  • Promote progressive technology patterns like CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-native and microservice architectures
  • Own, manage, and mature the teamโ€™s adoption of Agile and Scrum
  • Enforce clear standards for development process, software security, code quality, and automated testing
  • Manage code review process and ensure that appropriate technical standards are being enforced
  • Manage the handoff of requirements from product management to development to ensure completeness of vision readiness of requirements
  • Work closely with the CTO in establishing and maintaining metrics for team performance, health, and engagement
  • Manage ongoing staff allocation in order to align with capacity and priority needs
  • Engage actively with staff through regular 1:1s, career planning, and team building activities
  • Establish cross-departmental/functional relationships with key stakeholders in Customer Success, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to foster open collaboration, cooperation, and communication
  • Lead the defect management process with the goal of continuous improvement through retrospectives, RCAs, and process improvement
  • Function as incident commander as needed during service impairments and outages to facilitate communication, resolution, and after-action analysis
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success team to engage with customers and prospects

What you will need

  • 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience in both contributor and leadership roles
  • A deep understanding of modern automated testing patterns and technologies
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud technologies
  • Proven ability to own and execute upon product roadmap commitments
  • Experience establishing impactful engineering KPIs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to building a transparent and collaborative culture
  • Experience scaling agile and scrum practices with distributed teams
