Job Description

The DCX Client Services - Home Based Accounting Clerk will work as a full-time employee for a growing business based in the United States. You will get a chance to learn new skills as well as demonstrate skills you've learned in the past. You will be responsible for closely following the instructions and processes outlined by our client.

The daily tasks will vary so it will be necessary to be very flexible in this position. Other necessary characteristics of the job include having strong attention to detail, the ability to work well with co-workers, and a desire to learn new work skills.

An individual needs to be self-motivated, trustworthy, and highly dependable. Because we are 100% remote, we are not there to look over team members' shoulders and must be able to rely on individuals to complete tasks assigned to them in a timely manner as well as to report their time accurately so we can analyze project profitability and areas of needed improvement.

  • Proficient in the Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Role Details

  • Industry: Promotions
  • Work Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
  • Work Days: Monday through Friday
  • Written and spoken English skills: Very Proficient
  • Salary Range: 35,000 - 37,500

Job Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Process accounts payable from procurement of vendor bill, verification of documentation, GL coding, and authorization through payment.
  • Post vendor bills in QB and on archive document platform

Accounts Receivable

  • Create account receivable invoices
  • Post receipt of payments
  • Must be able to use multiple AR accounts, apply payments to invoices per specific guidelines
  • Prepare and distribute assessment fee invoices, record payments from multiple sources.
  • Follow collection procedure for delinquent owners, post finance charges and late fees
  • Must be able to interpret an owner ledger in QB and explain the status to owner (i.e. customer) and CAM (Community Association Manager)
  • Prepare and distribute owner statements with accuracy
  • Correspond with association manager and attorney in timely manner regarding collection process

Reconciliations

  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Perform credit card reconciliations

Work orders - Process work orders

  • Process and post Journal Entries
  • Process 1099 forms

Prepare Excel Spreadsheets

  • Prepare insurance schedules to allocate insurance expense over the life of the policy
  • Prepare reserve schedules to show reserve activity
  • Prepare annual budget spreadsheet template and work with CAM to create budget

Communication

  • Correspond with owners and vendors via phone, email and mail in a professional manner
  • Process owner correspondence via print, mail and electronic means
  • Work closely with licensed CAM’s

Qualifications:

  • Good math skills, data entry skills, 10 key by touch, accurate typing and thorough working knowledge of spreadsheet software required.
  • Must have proven knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Enterprise. Please explain full range of experience with QB.
  • Two years accounting experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have exceptional customer service, communications, clerical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree in accounting preferred, minimum 2-year accounting degree required.
