Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Global Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Action (IDEA) is responsible for building, driving and executing VF’s global IDEA strategy to ensure that associate, consumer and community belonging is embedded as a strategic priority across the enterprise. This role will work closely with VF’s senior executive team across brands, regions and functions to craft bespoke strategies addressing each business unit’s most relevant opportunities to advance belonging as a source of a competitive advantage for VF and our brands. This role will report to the Chief Belonging and Talent Officer.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Understand business implications of inclusion, diversity, equity & belonging, and determine the appropriate measures of success that align with business outcomes and the advancement of VF’s culture.

  • Be the subject matter expert, taking market data research and broad theoretical knowledge to apply principles and establish best practices amongst Senior Leaders to coach, collaborate and identify targeted areas to advance their leadership and team effectiveness.

  • Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, where diversity is viewed in the broadest sense - including age, ethnicity, gender, appearance, race, physical abilities, religion, social-economic background, political affiliation, sexual orientation, sexual identity, nationality, thinking styles and life experiences, and so forth.

  • Serve as the lead IDEA subject matter expert and for the global people team including: Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Total Rewards, Employee Engagement, Workplace Environments, Internal Communications and our HR Business partners globally.

  • Collaborate with COE’s to build and implement programs to support the associate journey from candidate identification to executive development. Responsibilities include identification of external talent acquisition partners, internship and apprenticeship programs, internal and external mentorship and sponsorship programs, and leadership development programming, and evolution of IDEA learning curriculum.

  • Be the key internal consultant to Brand leaders across Design, Merchandising and Brand Marketing to connect external consumer acquisition and engagement strategies with inclusive practices and bias minimization where relevant. Connect consumer acquisition strategies with internal employee engagement initiatives.

  • Identify and lead key areas of strategic partnership and integration with Global and Regional impact partners including the VF Foundation, Worker & Community Impact, Sustainability and Government Affairs teams to ensure social advocacy and impact areas are aligned, synergistic and complementary.

  • Maximize external resources, research, thought leadership, and best practices to support the evolution and impact of the VF Global Employee Resource Group network (ERGs), with direct accountability for the governance, operationalization and effectiveness of the global program.

  • Understand unique business/geographic challenges and needs to tailor initiatives to effectively enable strategy, driving globally-appropriate solutions that are appropriately consistent at enterprise-level yet fully integrate with local needs and regulatory requirements (e.g., US gov’t needs in USA, Works Councils in Europe, etc.). Manages a team of regional IDEA leaders to drive regional and locally relevant programming to support the individualized needs of VF associates across retail, distribution center, office and remote worker populations.

  • Drives the synthesis of human resource information by using various advanced analysis methodologies to develop internal reporting and insight sharing practices, and build internal organizational accountability for key actions.

  • Drives compliance and governance process to ensures data accuracy for all internal reporting, external benchmarking and external disclosures.

Skills for Success:

Years of Related Professional Experience: 12+ years

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • While formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 12+ years of experience and professional achievements in Human Resources and leadership experiences.

  • 5+ years of experience leading diverse teams and collaborating across functional areas towards a common goal.

  • Outstanding thought leadership and passion for inclusion, diversity, equity and belonging.

  • Strong relationship skills; able to develop "trusted advisor" status at executive levels to impact and influence decisions and effective actions across complex, matrixed structures.

  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and time constraints.

  • Excellent project management, analytical and organizational skills.

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive and collaborative working style

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with comfort facilitating and leading large groups through trainings and seminars, and storytelling through large format presentations.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:

$203,040.00 USD - $253,800.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.

Long-Term Incentive Potential: This position is eligible to participate in a Long-Term Incentive Plan. Specific details of the plan will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
