Senior/Principal Engineer

Your future team:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Engineer to join our team and lead the delivery of complex technical projects within the highly regulated nuclear maritime sector.

Reporting to the Technical Director and Project Manager, the successful candidate will conduct complex technical investigations and lead small multidisciplinary teams to solve novel technical problems with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

🔹 Naval maintenance and through-life operation experience in the submarine or surface fleet domain.

🔹 Proven track record in organising and reviewing naval maintenance plans.

🔹 Experience in the compilation/design of naval maintenance packages and periodic maintenance planning.

🔹 Educated to BEng degree level or possess equivalent experience.

🔹 Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in a highly regulated area, delivering engineering solutions.

🔹 Experience in customer liaison and progress reporting.

Desirable Experience:

🔹 Experience in the nuclear industry.

🔹 A-Class submarine maintenance and through-life operation experience.

🔹 Knowledge of submarine safety cases and safety analysis techniques, including risk assessment and hazard management.

🔹 Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.

🔹 Familiarity with requirements-led design and the development of requirements.

🔹 Ability to define budgets and work programmes for complete project lifecycles.

🔹 Professionally registered as an Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the UK Engineering Council.

🔹 Experience with the Maritime Collaborative Working Environment, Royal Navy Unit Maintenance Management System (UMMS), site surveys, and Primavera P6 is advantageous.
