Requirements

About the Role

The role is to provide Consulting Arborist services relating to tree biology, VTA, species identification, remedial tree works advice and pricing advice for tree operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular reporting to management on sales activities, projects and delivery of services including assisting with the setting of targets and budgets and reporting on performance against these.
  • Client support and management, project management and compilation of tree systems and data.
  • Perform training for clients and their staff in the use of products and services where applicable.
  • Perform client hand-overs.
  • Keep abreast of competitive arboricultural practices, developments and sales and marketing activities.
  • Perform ArborPlan, ArborSite and standalone on-site tree assessments.
  • Formulate and prepare tree reports including development related reports and tree management plans.
  • Aerial assessments and further reporting and diagnostic testing.
  • Liaise and support clients with arboricultural and horticultural advice.
  • Provide plant health care advice, services, guidance and management.
  • Liaise with and proactive management of clients, staff, contractors and suppliers associated with fulfilling services, systems and projects both in all regions of Australia.
  • General Administrative tasks including timekeeping, supporting and liaising with staff and management and involvement in other business activities as required.

Duties and responsibilities of your role may change from time to time to meet the needs and requirements of the business.

Essential Competencies

  • The consulting arborist should have and maintain at a minimum an Australian recognised Cert 5 in Arboriculture or above.
  • Ideally 5 years’ experience working as a consulting arborist.
  • The consulting arborist should have sound technical skills including tree biology, VTA, species identification and knowledge, remedial tree works and health care knowledge, accurate pricing knowledge for tree operations, excellent CRM skills, very strong IT and report writing skills.
  • You must have good commercial acumen, skills and motivation to enhance and further grow the consulting arm of our national business.
  • The consulting arborist should attain at least one of the following risk assessment qualifications: QTRA and / or TRAQ
  • Current Certificate of First Aid.
  • Current Working with Children Check for state of residence.
  • The consulting arborist must maintain a high level of fitness and mobility at all times capable of spending 38 hours per week on their feet doing tree assessments and walking 10 to 20 kilometres every day.
