About the role:

Provide and maintain network connectivity services for FIS networks. Connectivity managers (Network Consultants) are network specialists/consultants who assist Transition Managers to ensure timely network connectivity for clients.

About the team:

  • The Transition Management team at FIS delivers cloud hosting solutions to the clients for FIS suite of Capital Market products. The Transition Management team within FIS Capital Markets – Digital Transformation, provides technical project management for new, upgrading & migrating clients with a mix of public and private cloud engagements.
  • We take the client through their implementation journey from the point they sign a contract until they go live. Further to this we also plan the decommission of their legacy environment in the case of upgrades.
  • Connectivity Managers would be part of Transition Management team who are network specialists (network consultants) who assist Transition Managers to ensure timely network connectivity for clients.

What you will be doing:

  • Coordinating core connectivity and first access for clients hosted on Public Cloud (AWS, Azure) or Private Cloud (FIS Data Centers).
  • Liaising between Transition Management and FIS CIO Platform Operations and Networking teams.
  • Connectivity Design and Analysis: Analyze internal teams' and customers' connectivity requirements to design and recommend optimal network configurations. This includes identifying the most suitable technologies (firewalls, routers, VPNs, load balancers, etc.) to deliver a secure and reliable connection.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-solving: Act as a consultant to troubleshoot connectivity issues. You'll analyze network logs, diagnose problems, and recommend solutions to ensure smooth operation.
  • Staying Current with Technology: Continuously research and stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in connectivity solutions, including cloud-based network technologies (AWS ALB, NLB, Direct Connect, Private Link).
  • Escalating and resolving widespread connectivity issues.
  • Providing client support across multiple time zones
  • Prepares activity reports as requested by management.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve workflow and creates supporting documentation for review by peers and management.
  • Maintains network services documentation related to work area.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • Min 6-10 years of experience in network and connectivity management
  • Knowledge of network technologies, i.e., routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, network and routing protocols, DNS
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of networking fundamentals including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, IP-based connectivity, and web application firewalls.
  • Security Knowledge: Be familiar with load balancers like NetScalers, DNS, SSL certificates, TLS/Ciphers, and their role in securing network traffic.
  • Cloud Savvy (Preferred): Have a working knowledge of public cloud network domains, particularly AWS concepts like Application Load Balancers (ALB), Network Load Balancers (NLB), Direct Connect, and Private Link.
  • Requires knowledge of basic office tools
  • Ability to understand and apply technical concepts.
  • Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Flexibility, versatility, dependability

Added bonus if you have:

  • Infrastructure Automation (Plus): Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform for managing and deploying network configurations.
  • Version Control Familiarity (Plus): Understand version control systems like Bitbucket to collaborate on infrastructure code.
  • Strong analytical skill
  • Good communication skill
  • Good to have background in Finance with Trade & Assets, Treasury or Lending domain experience.
