Sr. Pricing Analyst

The Nielsen Pricing team is a vital driving force behind our company's success and profitability. We craft and document pricing strategies, provide analytics, go to market and negotiation support. Our pricing approaches optimize revenue while delivering unparalleled value to our clients. We work closely with the commercial and product teams in order to secure the most favorable outcomes. We are looking for an innovative pricing subject matter expert to support our Gracenote business. In this role, you will oversee the strategic pricing and rate card refresh for Gracenote to link to customer value. You will be responsible for providing best-practice inputs to formulate pricing strategies, ensuring excellent pricing performance, and overseeing day-to-day operations of the pricing CoE team. You will be responsible for pricing for 1K+ SKUs across six client verticals and five regions globally.

Pricing SME Key Activities:

  • Drive strategic refresh of rate cards to align to customer value by triaging competitive pricing, customer willingness to pay and alternatives available to customers.
  • Guide team to understand and perform effective pricing analytics for making informed recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends to inform recommendations and pricing guideline setting.
  • Effectively manage resources, ensuring timely completion of pricing analyses prior to each pricing cycle.
  • Drive execution of price adjustments across BUs toward price optimization.
  • Present insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders

Pricing SME Deliverables:

  • Refreshed rate cards with updated pricing meters.
  • Value proposition of the organization’s products and services.
  • Design of new pricing models, bundled offerings and introduction of value-based pricing approaches.
  • Upgrade existing pricing systems.
  • Diagnostic toolkit for assessing current pricing methodologies and capabilities.
  • Pricing database with comprehensive historical data.
  • Translate pricing data into actionable profit-enhancing strategies

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant experience in pricing and / or finance roles.

  • Required Skills: Familiarity with US Media ecosystem and trends.

  • Experience working on pricing teams in the US Media Data / Ad Tech / Media domain.

  • Comfort with complex pricing models; identifying underlying drivers of value & customer next best alternatives; defining pricing meters.

  • Ability to deliver high quality work while meeting aggressive deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment requiring a flexible work schedule (end of quarter, peak sales activity support needs)

  • Preferred Skills: Prior experience in understanding, managing, and communicating large data sets, business analysis, product management, in a technology / media company.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or comparable work experience

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $50,000-$185,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs
