About Vantage:

Vantage is a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, alternatively known as a FinOps platform. We help companies of all sizes manage their cloud infrastructure costs: everything from individual developers all the way up to multiple Fortune 500 customers. Our co-founders are industry veterans who have been former infrastructure engineers and product managers at DigitalOcean and AWS. The company is an efficient and hard working team of ~30 employees across the US with a New York City center of gravity. As we transition to the growth phase of the business, it’s likely our team size will at least double into 2024.

Our current customers include Square, Aflac, Rippling, Compass, Ripple, PBS, and Starburst.

Vantage has raised $25M in total venture capital, most recently a $21M Series A financing round in March of 2023. About The Role:

Vantage is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead our Business Development team on outbound and inbound sales opportunities. Reporting directly to the VP of Revenue, this role will drive lead generation efforts, optimize lead-to-opportunity conversion processes, and significantly increase closed sales deals. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in business development and sales leadership and have a proven ability to drive growth and enhance sales efficiency.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of business development representatives.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and ongoing training to develop the skills and capabilities of the team.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute the sales development strategy to drive pipeline growth and revenue generation that aligns with our company’s financial goals.
  • Define and implement scalable processes for lead generation, qualification, and conversion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product, to align sales development efforts with overall business objectives. Specifically, develop strategic account plans that outline the path to customer success and expansion opportunities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing and integrating the latest sales technologies and tools, including CRM systems, sales engagement platforms & AI-driven prospecting tools to enhance the sales development process and improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze key performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement initiatives to optimize sales development performance.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to refine strategies, tactics, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with senior sales leadership to ensure we’re aligned with and delivering on business objectives
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales programs to build and drive demand gen plans.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience and leading a high performing SDR/BDR team/organization with a track record of hitting revenue goals and driving growth.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams.

  • Experience hiring and developing teams at scale with a focus on coaching, mentoring and diversity.

  • Experience selling developer and/or technical products a strong plus

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.

  • Experience working in a SaaS or technology-driven environment is preferred.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

  • A curious mind with a strong desire to mentor and support others

  • Experience presenting to senior managers and the C-suite

  • A kind person

Pay & Benefits

The estimated annual US base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $210,000. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and education stipends.
