As a Cybersecurity Engineer working alongside our Cybersecurity Architecture team, you'll be on the front line of protecting computer systems and networks from the ever-evolving landscape of hacking, viruses, and malicious attacks. Through the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of security solutions you’ll ensure the utmost confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. This role isn’t just protecting data – it’s a vital operation for facilitating trust with our customers. With your technical expertise in cybersecurity and infrastructure, covering everything from networks and servers to systems and hardware devices, you'll lead the charge in deploying high-tech solutions that not only meet compliance with regulations and industry standards but also exceed expectations.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer you'll oversee incident response, vulnerability management, and cyber threat hunting. You'll execute security solutions applying cutting-edge technologies like firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, antivirus software, and vulnerability scanners. You will be instrumental in not only addressing threats but also proactively recommending system tuning, identifying new use cases, and providing additional insight from customer and industry data to continually enhance the value of our services.

Job responsibilities:

  • Ensure the continuity and smooth functionality of the Splunk service, its associated components, and its integrations with other services.

  • Implement solutions to address business problems, understanding the Splunk architecture requirements for scalability, security, performance, and cost-efficiency.

  • Ensure the security of the Splunk environment by performing proactive health checks and keeping abreast of new threats and vulnerabilities that may affect them.

  • Remain current and up to date with emerging technologies, business requirements and enhancements & develop proposals for changes that may be required.

  • Develop best practices, standards, and architectural principles for the Splunk service.

  • Execute creation and maintenance of architectural documentation.

  • Assist/engage other system owners and project development teams that have integration requirements with the various other enterprise security systems.

  • Assist/engage other engineering teams for problem determination of incidents.

  • Act in accordance with and be an advocate for Core Values (Respect, Collaboration, Accountability, and Transparency).

  • Be highly motivated with a need-to-understand desire so that insights and deep understandings of the supported environments and integrations are obtained.

  • Can work independently and as part of a team to research/resolve technical issues and develop quality solutions.

  • Professionally evolve and inspire others to do the same.

  • Work is generally done in a remote home office.

  • Be available for on call rotation.

  • Be available for occasional night or weekend work.

Required Skills and Experience

  • ​3+ Years working in large-scale Splunk environment

  • Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security management and use case development

  • Experience with developing and deploying solutions for onboarding data into enterprise Splunk environments

  • Ability to deploy and manage Splunk enterprise components via automation and manage data collection configurations in a highly distributed environment.

  • Proficiency of Splunk query language (SPL) and ability to normalize data for use with Splunk security models and build alerts and dashboards

  • Python, powershell, and/or shell scripting experience

  • Experience working with automation/orchestration tools and version control systems

  • Working knowledge of IaaS and SaaS deployments, security & integration.

  • Strong understanding of WANs and LANs and TCP/IP.

  • Understanding of IT security and implementation of security related guidelines and impact on IT infrastructures.

  • Problem solving abilities across enterprise multiple technology environments with complex integrations.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical.

  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with diverse geographical and cultural groups.
