Job Description

The opportunity

We are seeking a talented Full-stack Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a Full-stack Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deliver, maintain, and improve business applications as a member of a team, working across full-stack through the entire software development lifecycle.

  • Design end-user interfaces, databases, APIs and server-side logic while maintain both front and back-end web applications’ components.

  • Apply disciplined coding practices to enable agility and delivery of high-quality code.

  • Use development frameworks and third-party libraries.

  • Conduct a wide range of tests and analysis to ensure software applications meet or exceed standards, and end-user requirements.

  • Develop detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide for system/program development.

  • Perform various investigative "Spikes" to mitigate technical uncertainty and risk.

  • Troubleshoot errors, resolve bugs, and improve the overall efficiency of the software.

  • Complete any required documentation e.g., deployment, maintenance, support and business needs.

  • Perform peer reviews of code / deliverables and analysis for continuous learning and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on development experience
  • Technical Knowledge:

- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design with proficient programming skills.

- Expertise in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, and Typescript.

- Proficiency in back-end technologies such as Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate.

- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and knowledge of RESTful API and web development.

- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

- Familiarity with Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports Builder.

  • Skills and Attributes:

- Ability to creatively and effectively solve problems.

- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to changes.

- Collaborative attitude and willingness to work with team members.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes effectively.

  • Familiarity:

- Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools.

- Knowledge of CI/CD methods, API development, DevSecOps, and database design.

  • Nice to Have:

- Exposure to micro-service architectures.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.

- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic and Devo.

- Knowledge of SonarQube, Fortify, and Snyk.

- Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus.
