The Faculty of Medicine and Health is seeking an innovative and experienced professional to join our leadership team as the Head of Education. This pivotal role oversees the largest portfolio area in the faculty, offering educational services to our seven academic schools located across the Sydney metropolitan area. The successful candidate will lead critical business functions focusing on curriculum, quality and accreditation, education support, education design and innovation, and student placements.

The Head of Education works in close partnership with the Associate Dean (Education) to develop and lead strategies to achieve the educational mission of the faculty and university. To achieve this, the successful candidate will develop and maintain effective relationships faculty and institution-wide (particularly with Deputy Vice-Chancellor portfolios).

The Head of Education provides strategic oversight and drives innovation in service delivery across critical business functions ensuring excellence and effective integration of services, with a focus on the student and academic experience. Moreover, they will lead and deliver optimisation projects and ensure communities of practice to provide excellent client services.

We are looking for a leader with significant experience in education from both operational and innovation perspectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic development and policy implementation within an academic setting. Experience in leading core education services functions is essential. The ability to drive collaboration, influence and maintain effective relationships is also crucial.

The role reports to the Faculty General Manager.

Term and remuneration

The term of appointment is 2 years full time on a fixed term basis**.** The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
