Portfolio Product Leader

J ob Description:

DTN’s Eco Apps teams build the modern platform of shared components and services that power DTN's vertical product lines in our weather, agriculture, and energy sectors. This is a leadership role responsible both for the combined product roadmap across the platform, and for leading an empowered Product team.

What you will be responsible for:

Product Strategy

• Align product strategy for the Eco platform with company goals and vertical sector needs
• Ensure that product initiatives align with DTN objectives

Team Leadership

• Lead several autonomous and interdependent teams of product managers, promoting a strong culture of collaboration around problems to solve, innovation, and commitment integrity.
• Manage product budgets and resource allocations

Product Roadmap

• Own the direction and vision of the product roadmap for the overall platform
• Prioritize features, enhancements, and technical improvements based on the needs of both internal development, support, and sales teams as well as customers and partners

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with peers in Engineering, UX, Marketing, and Sales to ensure both execution of platform initiatives and customer adoption of DTN offerings

Market Research and Customer Insights

• Lead market research initiatives to identify product opportunities and gaps
• Gather insights from customers, stakeholders, and industry trends

Process Ownership

• Champion agile methodologies and project management practices, and participate actively in defining and improving our overall SDLC

What you will bring to the role:

Product and Portfolio Thinking

• Proven track record as both an individual contributor product manager responsible for the value and viability of your solutions, and a portfolio manager overseeing a collection of related solutions
• Ability to quickly learn new domains, and develop a solid understanding of all major parts of both DTN and our customers’ business
• Ability to convert a long-term vision for a product portfolio into actionable goals and plans

Leadership

• Proven ownership of quarterly planning and assigning objectives (problems to solve) to product teams
• Ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams, with a track record of coaching and developing product managers
• Demonstrated experience with platform-oriented teams helpful though not essential

Communication

• Proven ability to engage with both individual contributors and leaders of all levels in constructive collaboration
• Ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences

Technical Acumen

• Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery
• Comfort in discussing technical issues with engineering teams. A professional background in software development and/or educational background in engineering or a physical science is preferred but not required

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $146,250 and $214,500. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
