Role Summary:

DTN is seeking an experienced Grain Demand Planning Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ideating, validating, developing, and implementing new innovative solutions for our customers that increase efficiency and reduce costs downstream of the farmer-grain originator transaction. The role will focus primarily on trade of corn, soybeans and wheat.

Who you are:

  • You’re experienced in or fully understand the role of a Grain Demand Planner in the agriculture industry ​

You have experience in:

  • Developing effective demand forecast models based on consumer and industrial demand, trade flows and outages, global grain and fuel prices, livestock markets, industry trends and so on

  • Following markets that drive grain demand – livestock/feed, fuels, food and logistics. You can effectively track the drivers of demand in those markets and can flow the impacts back to forecasts for grain demand at the crop district level.

  • Conducting root cause analysis for demand planning variances and implementing corrective actions

  • Succinctly communicating forecast and inventory estimations

  • Analyzing past sales patterns, market trends, and seasonality to accurately forecast future product demand

  • Regularly reviewing and adjusting forecasts based on real-time sales data and market changes

  • Identifying potential supply chain disruptions and proactively developing contingency plans

  • Hedging strategy as practiced by food, feed and fuel processors

  • The basics of technical and fundamental grain commodities analysis

  • You have strong analytical skills and ability to use data to identify trends and root causes of issues

  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams

  • You have professional certifications such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

What you’ll do:

  • Ideate, evangelize, validate, develop, and implement new innovative DTN supply chain optimization solutions in close cooperation with prospects, customers, and partners.

  • Collaborate with commercial and marketing teams to develop product & solution targets, go-to-market strategies, value propositions, and drive product adoption.

  • Collaborate with clients to evaluate and identify unique supply chain opportunities and develop solutions based on DTN and partner products.

  • Evangelize Solutions and Products to sales prospects as part of our commercial team

  • Provide training and education to our commercial team, product team, and clients on best practices and new innovations

  • Work closely with deployment teams to ensure solution requirements are met and products/features are delivered to customer expectations.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, influencers and partners.

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $119,000 and $161,000. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
