About the Role
Our client is seeking a mid-level illustrator to create sample illustrations for a children's book. This remote, short-term project requires an artist with a talent for whimsical styles to bring the book's characters and scenes to life. The ideal candidate will be able to capture the essence of the story through engaging and imaginative illustrations.
Responsibilities:
- Create sample illustrations for a children's book based on the author's manuscript
- Develop character designs that align with the book's theme and target audience
- Illustrate key scenes from the story in a whimsical style
- Collaborate with the author to understand and visually interpret the story's concepts
- Provide sketches for approval before proceeding to final illustrations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mid-level illustrator, preferably in children's books or similar media
- Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in whimsical illustration styles
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate illustrations for children
- Proficiency in digital illustration tools and software
- Excellent visual storytelling skills
- Strong communication skills for effective remote collaboration
