About the Role

We are seeking a Permanent Full-Time IT Senior Network Engineer, based in THQ Blackburn, VIC, to provide exceptional solution focused support, optimisation of network configurations and contribute to the overall success of The Salvation Army’s (TSA) network infrastructure.

Purpose:

The Senior Network Engineer role plays a crucial part in TSA’s technology landscape by providing expertise in supporting various operational activities related to the organisation's data and voice network.

This includes overseeing and maintaining critical components such as SD-WAN, WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, Internet connectivity, Cloud Networking, Switching/Routing, Firewall & Network security, IP Telephony, and traditional PABX platforms.

The Senior IT Network engineer will also be responsible for documenting network designs, configurations, and procedures and actively contributing to developing and implementing network-related policies, processes, and standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and advice on enterprise systems and network architecture, leveraging extensive experience in the field
  • Design and implement flexible, enterprise-grade solutions aligned with business requirements and industry best practices
  • Perform thorough analysis to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of systems, recommending enhancements and optimizations
  • Collaborate with external vendors and subject matter experts to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into the existing network design and architecture
  • Act as a key contributor and advisor in the TSA Architecture Review Forum (ARF), ensuring network infrastructure aligns with strategic goals
  • Develop and execute comprehensive backup and recovery strategies for network equipment, ensuring data integrity and business continuity
  • Monitor and optimize performance and capacity of SDWAN, wired, and wireless networks, proactively addressing potential bottlenecks or issues
  • Provide expert guidance on network security, conducting research and implementing robust measures to protect complex, modern networks

Education Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Business Information Systems is preferable
  • Certifications in relevant IT disciplines, Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist (CMSS), Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching (CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)), ITILV3/V4 Foundations
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience
  • Experience in SD-WAN, WAN, LAN, , Cloud Networking, Switching/Routing, Firewall & Network security
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure networking, Wireless network technologies, VMWare NSX-T and Microsoft Services (Active Directory Certificate Services, NPS)
  • Experience supporting network operating systems including Cisco, HP, Meraki, monitoring and management tools
