The Position

The Pharma Technical Operations (PT) Global MSAT & Engineering (PTT) function is taking bold steps to modernize technical operations and ensure process robustness.This position is responsible for introducing and implementing innovative, efficient, and sustainable technical solutions (incl. technology) to deliver robust manufacturing processes and distribution of healthy products for future-ready PT across product lifecycle.

The Opportunity

As PTT MSAT Scientific Expert, you will serve as the point of contact to the Roche internal and external Manufacturing Organization for assigned products to represent Manufacturing Science and Technology on multiple projects, supporting the Technical Product Management Organization in the implementation of the technical product strategy, ensuring technical product health and state of the art technology implementation and ensuring establishing and maintaining the validated state of the manufacturing processes as a member of the Roche / CMO Joint Management Team (JMT).

  • Own process and product technical knowledge for the assigned product and/or site (i.e., internal and external manufacturing network)
  • Assess performance of the manufacturing processes and implement improvements related to robustness, speed, and efficiency together with safety and sustainability elements, ensuring robust processes exist to support technical transfers and integration of new technologies
  • Responsible for robust manufacturing and/or distribution processes in support of technical transfers and/or integration of new technologies
  • Translate strategies into technical objectives and outcomes to enable transparency and PTx portfolio prioritization and strategy implementation
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical issues, risks, and opportunities including proposal in the form of strategic roadmap
  • Deliver on projects or initiatives relevant to technical product lifecycle, technical standardization, and/or new technology
  • Partner with PTx function to translate PT network manufacturing and/or distribution needs to technical initiatives that deliver improvement related to robustness, speed, and efficiency together with safety and sustainability elements for manufacturing processes, product quality, and forward-looking capabilities (incl. novel/new technologies) throughout the product lifecycle​

**Who you are

  • An advanced degree in life sciences or engineering and several years of experience in the biologics drug product industry, specializing in aseptic filling process development and/or manufacturing process validation. Knowledge of delivery devices for medicinal products and external sterilization processes is desired.
  • Previous matrix leadership, cross-functional team leadership, and/or people management experience
  • Proven advanced data analytics skills and reporting capabilities of manufacturing process data
  • Effective communicator skill with solid written, oral and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and negotiate solutions in a matrix environment, interacting at various functional levels and capacity to deal with ambiguity and complexity skillfully and can effectively influence others across all levels of the organization
