Are you ready for a sneak-peek in the day of a Java Middleware Application Support Engineer in Netcompany-Intrasoft?
As a Java Middleware Application Support Engineer you will:
- Support and administration of JAVA Enterprise (J2EE) applications.
- Create and maintain incidents/requests in client's ticket system and follow ITIL best practices.
- Create and update knowledge articles for known issues and processes.
- Installation and deployment of middleware applications on Weblogic in different environments (Acceptance, Production, etc).
- Implement application monitoring in the different environments to ensure availability.
- Provide L1, L2 support and troubleshoot application and infrastructure components involved.
- Set up monitoring scripts and automate the tasks performed by support team.
- Send out the notifications to the users in case of Downtime during business hours.
- Trigger investigations (registration of problems) to identify root causes and prevent potential impacts on the application.
- Provide Stand by support when required.
Requirements
What would make you a fit for the role:
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of network protocols TCP/IP, HTTP/S.
- Understanding of Java Enterprise, XML, Web services SOAP and REST.
- Good Knowledge of application servers (Weblogic, Wildfly, Tomcat) as well as Apache HTTP server.
- Good knowledge of Database Management systems (MySQL, Oracle RDBMS).
- Good Knowledge of GNU/Linux toolset, shell scripting in mandatory.
- Good knowledge of Splunk monitoring platform.
- Good knowledge of ITIL best practices.
- Good knowledge of Infrastructure as a Code (IAC).
- Experience of working with YAML file to manage infrastructure.
- English is mandatory and other European languages are nice to have.
- Experience with large scale J2EE deployment and operational support would be a plus.
- Cloud experience, preferably in Azure environments.
- Understanding of Docker and application containers.
- Good knowledge of SOA Architecture and Web services (SOAP and REST).
- Experience with SoapUI and free API test tool.
- SSL certificate management knowledge is nice to have (keytool, openssl).
- Knowledge of SQL.
- ITIL foundation certification.
Working conditions
- Work shifts of 8 hours covering the time range between 08:00 am and 06:00 pm from Monday to Friday with some flexibility required when overtime is exceptionally needed + On demand- Standby service from 06:00 pm to 08:00 am + weekends and during public and Commission holidays.
- Occasional travel for missions.
- Office located in Brussels.
