HR Business Partnering Specialist - Southern Europe

As our HR Business Partner Specialist, covering Southern Europe and specifically Spain , based in Madrid, you will be part of a wider EMEA HR Business Partnering team supporting our People Team in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. In this role you will support our employees, local leadership and operations in Spain, Italy and France, whilst partnering key stakeholders with a presence in the region, such as functional and market leaders.

The role will provide consultation on all people matters, ensuring that HR processes and procedures can deliver business strategies and growth plans, and that global projects and initiatives are delivered compliantly within the region.

Supported by a strong People Team, you will focus on building capability and capacity of leaders and managers to embed good people leadership practices and work closely with HR colleagues in the COEs and other regions to deliver an effective and aligned People function.

Responsibilities

โ€ข Providing first line HR business partnering support, addressing matters escalated by the HR Services Team. Advise managers and employees on all employee relation and other people matters.

โ€ข Working closely with the local HRBP to manage workload and deliver a timely internal customer experience.

โ€ข Collaborating with managers across the business to identify performance and/or capability concerns and advising on the process to address concerns.

โ€ข Horizon scanning externally to identify and understand key employment legislation changes across Southern Europe and especially Spain, supporting and delivering training to and regularly updating internal stakeholders.

โ€ข Regularly reviewing, updating and improving employee policies across Southern Europe, ensuring that they are legislatively compliant, visible and accessible to all stakeholders.

โ€ข Provide advice and support to the COEโ€™s on all day-to-day matters, from Talent Acquisition, to global initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HR lifecycle โ€“ understands the employee lifecycle and implements the drivers within it.
  • Trusted advisor โ€“ builds stakeholder relationships quickly and is credibly interested in the stakeholder and their business challenges.
  • Commercial awareness and good business acumen โ€“ ensures deliverables and decisions reflect the business needs and uses data and insight to influence business priorities and activities.
  • Collaboration โ€“ works to break down silos, by leveraging and sharing knowledge of other teams and functions.
  • Skilled influencer โ€“ actively influences and manages relationships with stakeholders to enable the successful delivery of activities and projects.
  • Process excellence โ€“ plans, manages, and evaluates processes to ensure workflows are effective, efficient, and agile. Making incremental improvements to processes, controls or ways of working based on feedback and insight.
  • Strong understanding of local employment law and best practice in Spain. Experience or knowledge in multiple countries highly advantageous.
  • A demonstrable ability to prioritise multiple activities, projects and demands.
  • Demonstrable experience of business partnering with evidence of career progression within a People function.
  • Experience of working in a People Team, showing knowledge of HR policies, processes across the whole employee lifecycle.
  • Fluent English & Spanish language skills - verbal and written.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate/post-graduate education in Human Resources Management.
  • Experience of working within a complex matrix organisation with a European reach and preferably in a technology/software company.
