• Administer and maintain IBM Mainframe DB2 database systems, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of DB2 databases, including SQL query optimization, buffer pool tuning, and database parameter adjustments.
• Implement and maintain database security policies and access controls, including user authentication, authorization, and auditing.
• Plan and execute database backups, recoveries, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Collaborate with application development teams to design and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.
• Coordinate with mainframe system administrators to ensure smooth integration and operation of DB2 databases with other mainframe components.
