We are seeking a passionate Senior Manager, Medical Communications to join our growing team. As a key member of the Ascendis Pharma team, you will play a crucial role in driving our medical publications. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional, global teams working together to achieve extraordinary results.

You will be joining the Medical Communications team consisting of 5 colleagues, and report directly to Nisha Cooch, Global Head of Medical Communicationswho is based in Virginia. You will be based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Serve as a key member of the Global Medical Communications Team
  • Develop abstracts, poster content, conference presentations, and manuscript materials
  • Leverage relevant software (e.g., Endnote, Pubstrat) and databases for publication development
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (with e.g., Clinical Development, Biostats, Regulatory) throughout the publication process
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external author meetings and reviews of materials to ensure alignment throughout the publication development and approval process
  • Communicate key information around publication with internal and external stakeholders, including publication plans, timelines, status, etc.
  • Collaborate with other departments within Scientific Affairs (e.g., Training and Scientific Alignment) to help ensure info from Medical Communications is adequately captured (e.g., through scientific communications platforms) and distributed throughout the organization
  • Collaborate with other members of Medical Communications to ensure Medical Communications materials are appropriately translated into other collateral (e.g., field medical assets)

Qualifications and Skills:

You hold a relevant academic degree – preferably a Ph.D. in a biomedical science – and 2+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Strong knowledge of publication practices and guidelines and medical writing guidelines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a high capability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and clinical information
  • Strong aptitude for interpreting clinical data and incorporating it into technical writing related to pharmaceuticals/medical devices
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and with external KOLs to develop impactful publications
  • Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environment to manage several projects and prioritize work schedule

To succeed in this role, we also expect you to be experienced in applying current publication practices and guidelines and medical writing guidelines (e.g., ICMJE, ISMPP) in the pharmaceutical industry. In this role, you will ensure that scientific information (primarily in the endocrinology space) is communicated through publications clearly and precisely.

Travel: [10 days per year.
