What are we looking for?

We are looking for Junior Data Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in fostering data-driven decision making across the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity and accuracy by supporting and maintaining data models, data aggregation processes, and ETL workflows. Daily data quality monitoring and issue resolution will be a key focus, as will providing clear and insightful responses to user inquiries and investigations related to data.

What are we expecting from this role?

• Support and maintain data/data aggregation models and ETL processes.
• Monitor data quality daily and resolve any data issues.
• Assist users with data queries and investigations.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models feeding business intelligence tools. This will increase data accessibility and foster data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• Partner with system business analysts and solution analysts to understand solutions and processes for reporting and data extraction for users.
• Support and enhance user reports/datasets in accordance with company processes.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and datasets for business users based on their requests.
• Assist in supporting existing reports, dashboards, and datasets, and maintain the report/dashboard/dataset repository.
• Assist data engineers in key company projects/initiatives.

Who are we looking for?

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or related fields.
• Proficient in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Experience with data warehousing and/or data lake concepts.
• Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Microsoft Power BI.
• Familiarity with Agile Software Development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Process-oriented with excellent documentation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Databases: SQL Server, DB2, Couchbase, MySQL, Oracle, SQLITE

• Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, SQL Server Management Studio
• Data replication with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  ETL with SQL script running on SQL Agent or SSIS Job.
• Change Data Capture (CDC) with SSIS or other technology.
• Apache Kafka topic streaming
• Data documentation
• Data dictionary, data flow diagram, data architecture
• Service Bus Explorer, Azure Storage Explorer, Postman, Fiddler
• Bonus - Microsoft Office 365 suite
• Bonus - Big Data handling experience (Hadoop, NoSQL, Document DB, Azure Data Lake, etc.,) a big plus
• Bonus - Knowledge OS Window Server, Linux, UNIX and VMware
