Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst will deliver exceptional customer service to business groups and process biweekly/monthly payroll for salary and hourly employees and contribute to the yearend cycle and internal reporting requirements.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the payroll team by managing and supporting the day-to-day payroll processes through the manipulation and validation of incoming data, organization and submission of payroll entries to ensure error-free payroll processing aligned to statutory compliance and internal policies through data entry, mass uploads, time system inquiries, payroll processing jobs and maintaining required authorizations and documents
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile payroll and other payroll related data according to established timelines, standards, and procedures and calculate retroactive data as required and identify any payment or data errors
  • Ensure employees are receiving their payments on schedule by working to the tight deadlines and effectively managing your time to meet our SLA’s
  • Handle complex and/or sensitive payroll requests and issues by providing exceptional customer service to both the customer and its employees using Workday case management
  • Monitor and maintain accuracy of employee deductions, garnishments, and benefit enrollments.
  • Assist the broader payroll team, as needed, on special projects or payroll processing for vacation coverage

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, including in-depth knowledge of Dayforce Payroll module
  • Working knowledge of Workday
  • Bachelor’s degree, with PCP Certification preferred
  • Sound knowledge of Canadian payroll taxes and calculations for the various tax implications
  • Exposure to global payroll processing
  • Trained eye for detail and accuracy to consistently deliver error-free work
  • Exceptional time management skills as proper prioritization, communication and multi-tasking various projects under pressure will drive the Analyst’s success in their role due to tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be self-starter, well organized, seek development opportunities and able to work independently
  • A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines is required
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc.)
  • Experience with EDI file feeds for payroll/benefits
