Who we are?

ING is setting the trend for the Dutch and global wholesale banking industry. Market Risk team is a part of Financial Markets within Wholesale Banking Tech. We develop and maintain advanced (real-time) analytics solutions for internal end users and tools that facilitate processing huge amounts of data.

The challenge

Active Pivot is an important part of Competitive Pricing area allowing risk managers to analyse trade data coming from various deal capture systems within the bank (e.g. Summit, Murex). We deliver VaR, PnL and Risk metrics that enable our stakeholders to do daily market & credit risk analysis for decision making on portfolio risks and limit monitoring.

In addition, we play a key role for internal and regulatory reporting by providing a sign off process to guarantee correctness of figures and by allowing slice and dice on aggregated data coming from all input systems, regardless of data format.

As we have broadened our scope recently, new applications were onboarded to support additional business requirements like facilitating the explanation of VaR figures or applying the regulatory aggregation and calculation rules to provide Market Risk Managers with the capital requirements.

Our team's portfolio is diverse, containing a significant number of projects: several main applications developed on top of Active Pivot framework and many other in-house applications to support all the business flows.

As a developer in Active Pivot team, you will:

• Develop in-memory OLAP hypercubes built on top of ActivePivot technology, allowing users to slice and dice, aggregate and join the data from various sources.
• Implement data processing tools and services based on Spring, SpringBoot, JPA.
• Create front-end components with React.JS, Angular or other UI technologies.
• Reduce the complexity of the system by improving and aligning the applications.
• Design and develop automated unit, integration and regression tests.
• Work with large data sets and real-time analytics and have a strong focus on performance.
• Transform business requirements into functional design, estimate and plan development with your team and the Product Owner.
• Collaborate with Operations Engineers to promote developments to Production.

Technical requirements:

• Education at Bachelor/Master level with a strong analytical background, preferably in Computer Science.
• Certifications and/or proven proficiency in core Java.
• Experience with dependency injection framework.
• Experience or affinity with IT security concepts.
• Experience in developing automated testing.
• Experience in Continuous Delivery.
• Good understanding of Software Architectures.
• Work experience in an Agile organization and proven Agile mind-set.

Soft skills:

• Excellent team player in an international team, service oriented, customer centric, eager to learn and to coach others.
• You are curious and understand the latest developments in the technical and financial services.
• You are able to discuss with your stakeholders and product owner about features and stories and can translate these into software with real business value.
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice to have:
