Since launching in 2018, Cognito has helped over 1 million students improve their education. We're a fully remote team, looking for a driven and strategic Growth Product Manager to join us in shaping the future of learning.

Job Summary

As the Growth Product Manager at Cognito, you will be pivotal in driving the platform's growth and evolution. This role is perfect for an ambitious and innovative individual who is eager to make a significant impact on millions of users. You will lead our strategic efforts to expand our user base, improve product engagement, and transition Cognito from a startup to a more established educational platform. This involves a balanced mix of creative problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and effective project management.

Responsibilities

As the Growth Product Manager at Cognito, your primary priorities will be:

  1. Grow Site Traffic and Acquire New Users
  2. Improve Product Engagement and Quality to Increase Conversion Rates and Reduce Churn
  3. Utilise User Research, Data Analytics, and AI to Inform Strategy

To accomplish these priorities, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

1. Grow Site Traffic and Acquire New Users

  • SEO Strategies and Paid Ad Campaigns:
    • Implement and optimise SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings.
    • Manage paid advertising campaigns across various platforms to drive targeted traffic.
  • Content Marketing and Social Media:
    • Develop and manage content strategies to attract and engage target audiences.
    • Enhance exposure through blogs, social media, and other content marketing channels.
  • Email Campaigns and Referrals:
    • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to drive user engagement and acquisition.
    • Create referral programs to encourage existing users to invite new users.
  • Pricing Strategy and Discounts:
    • Analyse and optimise pricing models to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
    • Implement promotional strategies and discounts to attract new users.

2. Improve Product Engagement and Quality to Increase Conversion Rates and Reduce Churn

  • Conversion and Churn Strategies:
    • Develop strategies to convert free users to paid users.
    • Implement effective user retention strategies to reduce churn.
  • User Journey Mapping:
    • Document and optimise user flows from guest to pro user, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Feedback Systems and Automation:
    • Improve feedback mechanisms to gather user insights.
    • Automate customer service tasks to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Quality Assurance and Documentation:
    • Ensure the quality and functionality of the site through thorough checks and testing.
    • Create and update comprehensive documentation, including FAQs and design briefs.

3. Utilise User Research, Data Analytics, and AI to Inform Strategy

  • User Research and Interviews:
    • Conduct user interviews to gather insights and identify areas for improvement in the user experience.
    • Use findings to inform and guide product development and marketing strategies.
  • A/B Testing and Analytics:
    • Conduct A/B testing to validate hypotheses and optimise performance.
    • Track user behaviour and analyse data to make informed decisions.
  • Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
    • Work closely with the founder, product team, content team and customer support to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategies.
  • Innovative Use of AI:
    • Leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance various aspects of the business, from marketing to customer engagement.
    • Collaborate with the founder to identify the most effective strategies, present options, and implement AI-driven solutions.

Examples of Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage a blog to drive traffic and improve SEO rankings.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive email marketing system from the ground up.
  • Secure awards and endorsements from schools to enhance marketing credibility.
  • Increase classroom adoption of new courses by engaging with educators and providing support materials.
  • Conduct user interviews to gather feedback on new features and improvements.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure new features meet user needs and expectations.
  • Utilise AI tools to automate and enhance customer service responses.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in product management, growth, or similar roles.
  • Studied GCSEs and A-levels.
  • Ability to synthesise complex ideas and translate them into intuitive products.
  • Excellent communication and explanation skills, with fluency in English.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
  • Happy to give and receive criticism. We're a small and transparent team with a strict no-blame culture. We aspire to make the best content possible and know that we can only do so by iteratively improving based on honest feedback.
  • Proficiency with AI tools and technologies to optimise various business processes.
  • Reliable internet connection for Zoom calls.
