Accounting Policy Analyst

Key Role:

Apply United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Provide transaction-oriented accounting and reporting assistance, including assisting in the development of accounting policies and preparation of technical accounting memoranda. Support periodic close and reporting procedures associated with revenue, contingency accruals, share-based payment compensation, derivatives, and non-routine transactions. Participate in the analysis of company-wide accounting policies, new accounting standards, and other applicable financial reporting guidance. Interact with Booz Allen’s external auditors on highly technical and complex accounting areas. Contribute to Booz Allen’s overall system of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Monitor existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting requirements. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with US GAAP or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting with a public company or public accounting firm
  • Experience managing competing priorities and tasks
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with revenue recognition, accounting, and reporting practices of a publicly traded government contractor
  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
