Thermal Simulation and Model Predictive Control Internship

We are looking for an intern (m/w/d) to support us in the field of thermal simulation of externally excited synchronous machines (EESM) in our office at our Aachen Engineering Centre in Wegberg.

Your tasks will include:

• Conducting thermal simulations of EESM using finite element analysis:
• Developing a real-time capable thermal simulation model;
• Performing closed-loop simulations to analyze and optimize the electromagnetic and thermal behavior;
• Implementing model predictive control strategies to enhance system efficiency and performance.

The software tools used are MATLAB, Simulink and JMAG.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an engineering studies with focus on automotive or electrical engineering;
• Good English skills both written and spoken;
• Fundamental knowledge of electric drive train is expected;
• Basic skills in finite element analysis (JMAG) and data analysis (MATLAB) helpful.
