MSU Denver is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic-minded Strategic Projects Analyst to join our team. This position will report to the Senior Director of Strategic Infrastructure & Development. The Strategic Projects Analyst will be responsible for creating comprehensive narratives and financial analyses for various University wide projects, organizing and implementing special projects, and producing essential financial documentation. This role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create Narratives to Describe Strategic University Projects: Develop detailed and engaging narratives that effectively communicate the objectives, scope, and impact of strategic university projects.
  • Intake and Evaluation of Special Projects: Assess and evaluate the feasibility, scope, and requirements of incoming special projects to determine their alignment with university goals and objectives.
  • Financial Analysis of University Projects: Conduct thorough financial analyses to evaluate the cost, benefits, and financial viability of university projects.
  • Project Organization: Organize and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all elements are well-coordinated and executed according to plan.
  • Implementing Special Projects: Lead the implementation of special projects, coordinating with various departments to ensure successful execution and delivery.
  • Produce Financial Documentation for University Projects: Generate comprehensive financial documentation that supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of university projects.
  • Produce Financial Documentation with University Projects: Collaborate with project teams to produce accurate and detailed financial documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience in the field can substitute degree, 1 year of high education equals two years of experience.
  • 5 years of experience in project management, financial analysis, or a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education or a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and reporting.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning and implementation.

Salary for Announcement:

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $96,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
