About the Role:

We are seeking a Product Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the development and launch of innovative products that enhance our educational platform and improve learning outcomes for justice-impacted individuals. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, UX, and QA, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure our products meet the needs of correctional facilities, learners, and employers. Your technical expertise and strategic insights will drive the successful delivery and continuous improvement of our products.

Responsibilities

Product Management

• Work closely with the Director of Product and Product Managers to develop overall product strategy.

• Write user stories and acceptance criteria based on priorities provided Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.

• Ensure the scrum teams understand items in the product backlog to the necessary level of detail.

• Act as the primary technical contact for queries related to the product.

• Manage relationships with external vendors and partners.

Requirement Gathering:

• Explore, document, and gather product requirements from clients and the marketplace for new solutions.

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and partners, to gather insights on their needs and expectations, ensuring alignment with product development and improvements.

Collaboration and Coordination:

• Lead the coordination of tasks with engineering, data science, UX, QA, and other internal teams.

• Collaborate with the UX/UI designer to integrate strong UX design and accessibility standards into products.

• Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure product marketing objectives are met.

• Assist in the development of pricing strategies and go-to-market plans for new product releases.

Implementation and Testing:

• Take part in the testing and product launch process to ensure quality and timely releases.

• Create strong user acceptance criteria for Quality Assurance.

• Recommend and implement new products and releases based on gathered requirements.

• Monitor and analyze product performance, collecting feedback from customers and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.

• Conduct competitive research and analysis to inform product development and positioning.

Qualifications:

• Belief in Orijin’s mission to reduce recidivism and improve the life chances of incarcerated learners and returning citizens.

• Prior experience in a product owner or similar role, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle.

• Demonstrated results in product development processes, including market research, product planning, and product launch.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools for product development and project management.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a history of gathering and interpreting data to inform decision-making.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

• Authorized for work in the United States.

Salary and Benefits

$110,000 - $115,000 a year

Eligible for 10% yearly bonus
