Business Intelligence Engineer

RYZ Labs is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join one of our clients working in the hospitality industry. Their BI Engineering team is mainly focused on building and operating ETL pipelines and performing data modeling for analytics purposes. This team also partners with data platform, product engineering, and data science teams to deliver data products to our client’s business.

Basic Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience working as a BI / Analytics Engineer

- Expert SQL and data modeling skills

- Strong communication skills and ability to gather requirements and translate them to specs and design

- Knowledge of data warehouse principles and methodologies

- Experience in Python programming, Git, CI/CD

- Experience with AWS cloud services, data warehouse stores like Snowflake, Redshift, and DBT desirable

- Background in real estate or hotel industry is desirable- Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to learn quickly

Key Responsibilities:

- Build and operate our client’s data infrastructure by building and maintaining the data platform, data pipelines, and the tools that ingest, process, transform, and serve data

- Build software libraries that standardize the acquisition, ingestion, and integration of external data sources critical for real-time competitive intelligence and pricing

- Use your expert SQL and data modeling skills to build the data warehouse base layer data models that will power our client’s reporting dashboards

- Establish and maintain the company’s data lake/data warehousing strategy, define the appropriate data architecture, implement the best technical solution, and continue to meet the growing needs of the business;

- Work with product and business analytics teams to ensure the availability and accessibility of relevant business data and business metrics for product analytics and business performance reporting.

- Understand our client’s business intimately and model data that will be the source of truth for their business KPIs and metrics

- Design and develop scalable platforms and processes for feature extraction, model training, and simulation

- Own tools, processes, and controls to help the team grow at scale.
