As a Manager for our Quebec office, your primary responsibility will be the recruitment, management, development, and delegation of our bi-lingual team. With a strong focus on collaboration with fellow managers, executives, and employees, you will strive to unite your team to meet company objectives and compliance. With strong communication skills, the manager will be able to discuss policy and procedures, to enhance productivity. The right candidate will have a strong leadership presence with an ability to multi-task, set objectives, prioritize, as well as assist their team with goal setting and career growth. A manager must act in a supportive role to both fellow management, direct reports, and Quebec’s Origination EdenPark team.

Key Responsibilities

  • When required, assist credit team in review and adjudicating credit applications sent by our dealer partners regarding vehicle loan applications by assessing an applicants’ creditworthiness based on credit history, income and employment, and collateral valuation. Follow detailed credit policy guidelines and carefully review credit application and credit bureau report details.
  • When required, assist funding team in reviewing loan transactions for documentation/credit/rate compliance with internal funding policies. Process any documents received, provide lost/missing contract research as needed, update records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents. Execute detailed document review ensuring all assigned documents are accurate, complete, properly executed, and registered as required.
  • When required, assist income team with reviewing and verifying applicant’s income and employment information. Process any income and/or trailing documents received. Update records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents. Carefully review applicant proof of income and employment documentation to ensure legitimacy and accuracy. Contact employers over the phone to further corroborate the information in a professional manner.
  • Follow up with assigned dealerships to resolve pending/missing items via phone, fax, and email, communicate and resolve issues for any of the origination’s teams.
  • Delegate responsibilities, managing a busy workflow while maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsible for meeting defined service standards and turnaround times.
  • Discover, develop, train, and propose efficiencies within the Quebec originations department while giving direction and feedback about what needs improvement.
  • Ensure loan applications/escalations are assessed accurately and timely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Oversee staff members from all originations departments, auditing decisions, providing feedback, and delegating assignments.
  • Detail oriented and able to closely follow credit, funding, and income policy rules to ensure risk parameters are consistently followed, while looking for opportunities to grant exceptions based on credit worthiness.
  • Willingness to thrive in a customer service focused and teamwork setting working with other departments in Sales, Income, Funding and with our Dealers partners.
  • Execute detailed document review ensuring all assigned documents are accurate, complete, properly executed, and registered as required.
  • Translate all documentation from English to French
  • Primary interviewer for all bilingual candidates
  • Serve as direct report for Bi-lingual staff within originations departments.
  • Complete check-ins, reviews and feedback through written/verbal communications and mid-year/year end reviews. Effective communication and collaboration with senior management of Originations departments and executive team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt, efficient, detailed customer-oriented service to all stakeholders.
  • Manage a team of direct reports on and offsite.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • You have at least 5 years of prior experience in loan underwriting, experience in a financial institution and knowledge of the auto industry
  • You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skillset, confident approaching, and coaching employees
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong attention to detail.
  • You are tech-savvy and know your way through Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Previous experience working with loan origination software.
  • Post-secondary education in Finance or Business
