About the Role

This pivotal role is instrumental in steering Welcome Pickups' global trajectory, playing a crucial part in expanding our reach through effective SEO strategies. The primary focus is on ensuring a high-quality online presence across all destinations. By optimizing Welcome's customers' web experience, this role actively promotes our brand motto, "your friend on the ground," through targeted and relevant content in English and meticulous localization in multiple languages worldwide.

The SEO Manager is responsible for leading a team in search engine optimization, including organic search strategy development, on-page optimization, performance analysis, and reporting. Key areas of focus include increasing current positions and ranking new pages through white-hat SEO tactics, technical SEO, and content marketing. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for staying up-to-date with SEO/Google/web trends. This person will also represent marketing interests in cross-functional discussions with the product, technology, operations, and business teams.

We are looking for an SEO leader who can help set the strategy and execute the key pieces needed to maintain SEO’s position as a significant customer acquisition channel (over 2.5m EUR per annum) at Welcome Pickups.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective SEO strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Plan and execute publishing activities (300 content marketing pages per month across 6+ languages) for Welcomepickups.com, increasing organic reach through SEO.
• Utilize audit tools (Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog) to assess and improve the website's SEO status.
• Analyze audit findings and implement actions to enhance SEO performance.
• Evangelize SEO best practices and strategies across the organization.
• Manage the internal content team (2) and onboard, coordinate, and assess external content writers (15+) and translators.
• Support and guide digital content development for B2B marketing initiatives in coordination with the B2B Growth Marketing team.
• Work closely with the Product team to ensure technical SEO best practices are followed.
• Engage the product team in initiatives leading to conversion rate optimization.
• Review and analyze key performance indicators, including page ranking, organic sessions, and domain authority.
• Gather data, brainstorm ideas, and deliver data-driven results through experiments.
• Own the localization of content in 6+ languages, ensuring it maintains the brand voice and meets quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a relevant field; MA is a plus.
• At least 5+ years of hands-on experience managing all SEO activities with expert knowledge of SEO practices and techniques.
• Proficient with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Power BI, Mix Panel, Looker).
• Experienced with SEO tools (Ahrefs, Search Console, SEMRush, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure and analyze data, report on KPIs, and make data-driven decisions.
• Creative thinker with a track record of developing innovative SEO strategies.
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of working independently while keeping stakeholders informed.
• Strong writing and editing skills with a passion for storytelling.
• In-depth knowledge of research principles and experience in analyzing data.
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
• Top-level English, both written and oral.
• Strong business acumen and a high achiever, consistently surpassing sales or performance goals.
• Excellent time management with the ability to multi-task and set priorities effectively.
• A friendly and upbeat personality.
