In New York, this means our team works with 200 New Zealand exporters looking to enter and grow in the US market. We are part of team North America which includes offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC and Vancouver, Canada. The New York office is both a trade office (predominantly) but also the New Zealand Consulate for New York.

What you’ll be doing: Te whakamahere

We’re looking for an experienced Office Manager that takes pride in ensuring seamless operation and takes ownership for this diverse role. This position supports our Trade Commissioner/Consul General and New York team to deliver on our customers goals by managing the New York office. This includes managing vendors, ordering supplies, handling office budgets, wellness, safety, and security.

As Consular Officer, you will also provide assistance to New Zealand citizens living and travelling in and around the tri-state area, manage the annual ANZAC Day commemoration ceremony, as well as the polling activities for the New Zealand General Election and other activities related to New Zealand Government official visits, In this role, you are the face of New Zealand to New Zealanders travelling or living in the tri-state area.

You will help the North American region achieve operational excellence by helping to design, develop and implement administrative systems, as well as be a champion and role-model for great culture and collaboration. You will work with not only the New York team, but also the North American and New Zealand operations team (IT, Finance, HR, etc.) – as well as other office managers across the globe.

What you’ll need to be successful: Ō Pūkenga

You’ll be an experienced Office Manager (or similar role) with great administration skills and ideally, a passion for New Zealand.

You will be adaptable and flexible, extremely customer focused, and have a strong sense of initiative. You will be comfortable with finance (budgets, etc.) and be operationally savvy. Attention to detail is a critical requirement. You will need to be a person who has a huge amount of natural empathy and a willingness to help others, as part of this role is helping Kiwis in distress.

You are likely to be energized by variety and juggling multiple responsibilities, but you will also be able to focus on the detail and make sure nothing gets missed. You will be a born problem solver, who likes to just make things happen! Your default will be to take a collaborative approach to supporting the team.

Please note that salary for this role is influenced by local market expectations, an indicative salary for the role is: $91,300 - $101,400, inclusive of a metallic platinum medical insurance plan, including dental and vision coverage.
