The Office of the Chief Human Resource Officer is incubating the establishment of a brand-new HR Centre of Excellence for Workforce Planning. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing the practice of Workforce Planning across the organization, advancing our capability building within HR function and drive the capability maturity from basic headcount and budget management to comprehensive Operational and Strategic Workforce planning.

As a Workforce Planning Specialist and practice lead, you will have the opportunity to work with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to shape the future of our workforce. You will drive the design, implementation and adoption of cutting-edge technology and analytics to drive insights and recommendations. You will be part of a high-performing and collaborative team that values learning and development. This position plays a key role in ensuring the organization has the right talent, in the right place, at the right time, to meet our objectives efficiently and effectively.

Principal Accountabilities:

Establishing and Maturing the Workforce Planning Centre of Excellence

  • Provide HR consultative guidance / advice and thought leadership to the HR leadership team on the topic of Workforce Planning
  • Establish a scalable and standardised Workforce Planning practice for the whole organisation starting with headcount planning and integrating strategic human capital insights and perspectives on managing the supply and demand of our workforce to be future -ready.
  • As the Global Workforce Planning Process and Product Owner, own the comprehensive solution that integrate People (Roles & Responsibility across the Organisation), Process, Data and System requirements. Work closely with Head of HR Operations, Tech and Insights and Chief Financial Controller to implement a best-in-class workforce planning technology solution that meets the business need and is adopted across the organisation.
  • Working with our Talent, Leadership, Learning and Culture COE as well as the Business Facing HR teams to establish a skills-based organisation approach to workforce planning and catering to market specific nuance and requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance workforce planning processes and methodologies regularly
  • Define and measure success metrics that provide strategic insight and measure change progress.
  • Manage and coach the HR community leading and guiding the team through the workforce planning process.

Workforce Management - Optimization, Strategic Workforce Planning and Forecasting

  • Supports enterprise level workforce optimization by leading and facilitating discussions to identify current and future state workforce needs using integrated systems and design thinking approaches through analysing current workforce data, examining internal and external drivers, and forecasting future workforce needs.
  • This role is relied upon to compare enterprise workforce data with market data to advise senior leaders on indicators, trends, and changes impacting the workforce. This requires close working relationship with the HR data and insights team who will enable the data foundation and required Management Information (MI).
  • Partner with HR Partners to gather information and insights to support short term and long-term strategic workforce plans that address talent gaps and anticipate future skills requirement.
  • Providing Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence with insight on hiring plans and forecast.
  • Implement forecasting models to predict future workforce scenario planning with the establishment of clear guidance on demand drivers and factors influencing supply levels.
  • Partnering with Operational Finance and Financial planning teams on the impact of Headcount and workforce plan on financials.
  • Oversee the operationalization of workforce plans through organizational change, continuous improvements, and change management.
  • Ensure workforce planning practices comply with legal requirements
  • Report on workforce planning initiatives, news, and updates in a clear and timely manner to the CHRO, outlining progress, themes, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • 10+ year experience translating strategic workforce planning into tactical outcomes. Demonstrated knowledge of workforce planning principles, methodologies, tools and metric, organizational development, and change management initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic problem solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to address complex workforce challenges
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; proficient in collecting, organizing, and managing workforce data. Practical experience with interpreting and reporting on workforce data analytics to drive strategy.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and align workforce plans with organizational goals. Proactive and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions for workforce challenges. Ability to adapt plans based on evolving business needs and industry trends.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive change and influence key stakeholders. Experience leading and executing workforce planning projects with senior business leaders. Ability to work with different levels of stakeholders to develop relationships, establish credibility and instill confidence.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written; able to convey complex workforce planning concepts to various stakeholders with a clear and compelling approach.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills able to build robust working relationships at all levels. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups, and influence decision making at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/clients simultaneously.
  • Excellent facilitation skills with a high degree of comfort delivering outcomes and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable employment legislation and human resources best practices.
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity with agile strategies and some of the relevant Human Capital technologies would be of benefit.
