Full Stack Developer

We currently have a vacancy for a Full Stack Developer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Ispra, Italy. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your tasks

• Maintain an information platform software, covering the full-stack(HTML, JavaScript, Java/Tomcat, PostgreSQL);
• Lead the maintenance of the platform’s data harmonisation, integration and dissemination processes (ETL, ownCloud, R and Python scripting);
• Support data providers and users, including curation of standard on-boarding paths and their documentation;
• Lead the integration of new datasets, or update of existing ones.

Requirements

• University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• At least 10 years of experience in software development;
• At least 10 years of experience in data management;
• At least 5 years of experience in web applications, preferably on Apache/Tomcat, HTML, JavaScript;
• At least 5 years of PostgreSQL/PostGIS data management;
• At least 5 years of experience in technical team coordination;
• At least 3 years of experience in agile IT projects, preferably on PM2 /SCRUM;
• Excellent knowledge of Java/Tomcat based web application software development and maintenance;
• Good knowledge of R, Python software maintenance;
• Knowledge of ownCloud (or Nextcloud) platform administration, APIs, PHP and ETL data harmonization tools (Pentaho Data Integration – Community Edition);
• A certification in project management(preferably PM2 or SCRUM) would be considered an asset;
• Excellent command of the English language.
