Head of Marketing

We are hiring at IDGateway for a Head of Marketing Manager to join our growing team in Farnborough!

We have an opening for a Head of Marketing to join IDGateway, leading one other junior marketeer. The purpose of the role is to grow the business through customer acquisition, customer retention and the proliferation of brand advocacy. As a boutique technology business, our primary channels for communication are digital, so we are looking for a SaaS marketing specialist with proven skills in customer acquisition, using social media, digital communications and other innovative methods for the marketing of web or app-based services.

This is a very hands-on role, which will require the post-holder to deliver the full spectrum of marketing activity, from working with the Directors at a strategic level to driving all operational activity (e.g. budget management, data gathering and reporting, content creation and managing our digital channels day-to-day). The role demands a data-driven, highly creative and ambitious person who sets big goals for themselves and others - and takes personal responsibility for the execution of their ideas. Our mission is to drive up the number of employers using our software platforms, increasing subscriber numbers through digital marketing and also through the development of channel-partner relationships. Our ideal candidate will have experience in marketing both directly to end users as well as to intermediaries who may wish to weave our solutions into their own services. Above all, we are looking for a person who drives change through the implementation of innovative, ground-breaking ideas and initiatives (not just treading traditional paths).

You will be degree-qualified and will have academic or professional qualifications in a marketing or similar discipline, Furthermore, it is likely you will have at least 3 years’ experience in a marketing leadership role (including managing others) and will, during that time, have repeatedly proven your skills.

The successful candidates can be based anywhere within commutable distance of our office in Farnborough, working in a hybrid work model!

What your day will look like:

• Creating marketing strategy, including detailed plans and budgets, and reporting progress upwards against these plans
• Developing and maintaining a data-driven system to generate leads and accurately track and report conversion and ROI across all stages of the customer journey with a focus on the overall Sales Efficiency Ratio (SER) target
• Using design, automation, lead generation and analysis tools such as Hubspot, Google Console/Ads, Leadfeeder (or similar), Cognism (or similar), Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Wix, among others
• Driving new customer acquisition through the flow of leads into the marketing funnel and optimization of lead conversion
• Being a talented wordsmith, able to create vibrant content and provide copy for blogs, articles and tactical marketing campaigns as and when required
• Establishing social media followings and building brand advocacy
• Maintaining and evolving product websites
• Implementing surveys and analysing feedback to fuel innovation in the business
• Having a creative and innovative approach to marketing. Being prepared to try new things rather than work to a repetitive formula
• Be able to own our marketing function. This is a role for someone who can own and steer the marketing function in consultation with the business without the need for continuous guidance and direction

About You:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing or a similar related discipline is essential
• 8+ years Digital Marketing experience, 3+ years SaaS Software Marketing experience, 2+ years Marketing dept leadership experience, 2+ years experience in Marketing to an International Audience
• Extensive experience with Hubspot, LinkedIn and other martech tools
• Proven experience and knowledge of rapid client acquisition in a go-to-market / new product
• Strong interest in developing and mentoring others
• Ability to roll up sleeves and make things happen on a limited budget
• Team player
• Great attention to detail and planning skills
• Strong work ethic, organised and focused
• Exceptional communication skillset
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
• Legally authorized to work in the UK
