POSITION SUMMARY:

Alexander Dennis and NFI Group is seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our finance department. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing key financial information, supporting month-end close tasks, and managing insurance-related administration. If you are a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and a desire to develop your accounting expertise, we invite you to apply and contribute to our continuous improvement initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Participate in month-end close activities, focusing on fixed assets, intercompany transactions, overheads, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Provide backup support for team members during month-end tasks and VAT return preparation as needed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for insurance-related matters, managing daily administration and renewal processes.
  • Review aged Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and prepare and process clearances upon approval.
  • Assist with implementing NFI Group Accounting roadmap initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Group Financial Reporting Supervisor or Manager.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Confident communicator, who can build relationships across a range of functions within the business.
  • Desire to learn and develop accounting skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Problem solving mentality and ability to carry out multiple tasks with deadlines in mind.
  • High level of proactivity to help the business drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
