Senior Cost & Insights Engineer

As a Senior Cost & Insights Engineer in the Electronics systems subdomain, you will play a crucial role in managing and executing cost studies and analyses, focusing on various manufacturing processes and product knowledge in the automotive sector. Working in a collaborative and international environment, you will support A2Mac1 and its customers by providing detailed cost analysis, benchmarking, and recommendations to optimize product costs and performance. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality insights and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Costing Activities:

· Develop bottom-up costing, Zero-Based Costing (ZBC), and direction costing as per customer expectations.

· Plan and execute cost studies, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines.

· Analyse input data, identify materials and manufacturing processes, and cost them using internal tools and methodologies.

· Understand and explain product operation at various levels (system, subsystem, component, function).

· Identify and recommend ways to optimize the cost of vehicle features or systems.

· Conduct cost/performance benchmarking and value analysis studies.

· Write and present study reports according to required quality standards.

Project Management:

· Participate in all aspects of the project development life cycle, including planning, requirements, development, and testing.

· Monitor and report project progress, ensuring compliance with deliverables and milestones.

· Attend meetings and report updates on assigned projects.

· Analyse, communicate, recommend, implement, and report cost information effectively.

Customer Interaction:

· Interact with customers during delivery and hand-over sessions to ensure satisfaction.

· Identify the right benchmarks from the database and analyse in exchange with customer’s expert teams.

Team Support:

· Support team members as and when necessary.

· Contribute to improving internal tools, models, and templates.

· Provide technical mentorship for onboarding and training new team members.

Requirements

Professional Background

• Min. 5-8 years of relevant experience as Senior Cost Engineer.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Knowledge of automobile and auto-parts.

Skills & Abilities

• Deep knowledge & expertise in at least 3-4 manufacturing processes such as PCB manufacturing, PCBA production, Final assembly, optical modules, wire harness manufacturing or other key technologies.
• Extended system knowledge in Electronics, such as ADAS, Infotainment, Body electronics, Harness.
• Proficiency in costing methodologies (Zero-Based Costing, Should Costing, Bottom-up costing, Directional costing methods, Design to Cost).
• Excellent analytical, synthesis, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external interactions.
• Effective and clear cross-cultural communication.
• Fluent in written and spoken English (minimum B2 level).
