Software Test Engineer

As Software Test Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the testing of an Identity and Access Management solution used globally, across all ZEISS units. Your goal is to provide testing of this solution by mostly focusing on E2E testing, designing, and executing test cases, creation and prioritization of bugs, their retest and strengthening the overall team in delivering valuable and fault-free user stories.

• Collaborate in refinement and planning sessions to have meaningful and testable acceptance criteria

• Contribute to the Software Development Life Cycle, starting from refinements to avoid bugs as early as possible

• Creating / managing / executing test cases (smoke-, functional -, integration tests)

• Compiling and executing test plans, diligently reporting and tracking outstanding bugs or blockages

• Performing manual testing on user stories, based on acceptance criteria

• Creating, validating, prioritizing, grouping, and re-testing bugs

• Deep dive into existing automation suite and understand operation, understanding what should be automated

• To act as quality gate for the entire team through implemented processes

• Reporting team activities and dependencies for cross-team collaboration

• Interested and open to learn/use other test levels (e.g. API testing)

• Be a central part of an agile development team

Your profile

• At least 3+ years of software testing experience

• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps or similar tools

• Working experience in agile software development - be an integrated team member

• ISTQB CTFL is a plus

• Proven interest in test automation or previous participations

• Strong communication skills and collaborative team spirit

• Fluent English language skills
