As the Senior Content Marketing and Brand Manager, you will be responsible for influencing content and brand strategies. Offering a remote work environment, you will serve as an integral member of a global, growing team in a fast-paced corporate environment. The role will cover a wide range of activities, including brand revitalization, thought leadership content campaigns, and digital strategies.

We have expanded into Canada, Australia and Europe (Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and Germany) so multi-national experience, or the interest to gain that experience, is helpful.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As part of the Corporate Marketing and Communications team, this individual will collaborate with business development leaders and subject matter experts to execute the marketing plan and company-wide brand priorities. The primary duties will include:

  • Help influence and develop the annual marketing plan in support of business strategy.
  • Help lead, design and deliver enterprise thought leadership content and brand campaigns to strengthen market share and mindshare, amplifying the brand story and mission of Montrose in the marketplace. Develop differentiated content that helps with brand uplift, further enabling sales teams and subject matter experts.
  • Help establish and govern new global standards of the brand including tone of voice, brand induction, visual narrative and design guidelines.
  • Play an instrumental role in driving the adoption of content marketing and thought leadership strategy within the organization.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Montrose brand; Development of editorial governance so content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone; Content, copywriting and messaging development is key to this role. Edit, proofread, supplement and improve writing provided by subject matter experts.
  • Monitor, track, and document content results; analyze data/returns/target audience response;
  • Contribute to the total cross-functional effectiveness of the department, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.
  • Assist the overall Marketing & Communications team on special projects and other duties as required.
  • Champion the adoption of emerging technologies and marketing trends, while evaluating tools and platforms that enable Montrose to scale and grow.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and vendors as needed to support brand and digital initiatives.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The candidate should have a Bachelor/Academic degree (Marketing, Journalism, Advertising or Business) and 10+ years of relevant content development, brand development and marketing communications experience in an international B2B environment. Other qualification include:

  • Professional services or A/E/C or consultancy industry experience and/or experience in key industry sectors such as water, emissions, renewables, or environment preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Ability to provide a strategic link between content marketing campaigns, brand, and business outcomes.
  • Experience in developing and delivering a strategic omnichannel marketing campaign.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members. Strong writing, proofreading, and editing capabilities.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovative marketing strategies and staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Experience in managing large budgets, agencies, and other marketing communications suppliers.
  • Experienced in ROI tracking and reporting. Knowledge of how marketing technology and online channels can expand return on investment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of SEO, SEM, social media marketing, and email marketing best practices.
  • Highly effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing, web content management systems (e.g., WordPress), and social media.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.

  • Planning & Organizing: Demonstrates excellent prioritizing and organizational skills including the ability to manage upwards into the organization. Capable of re-planning and re-prioritizing work based on business needs
  • Innovation & Technology: Regularly searches for and recommends new approaches to marketing and communications, including tools, competitor research and integration with marketing channels
  • Analytical thinking: Able to identify and assess key issues and suggest best course of action
  • Flexibility: Able to manage change and remain flexible to individual situations and personalities and have the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Client Focus: Keep end clients and prospective clients top of mind for all external activities
  • Teamwork: Ability to build consensus, provide direction, work well with others and recognize the strengths each individual can bring
  • Commercial Awareness: Ability to make decisions and make recommendations based on what is best for the business as a whole
