Role Summary
As the Head of Operations, you will be leading the day-to-day operations at Beam Mobility Malaysia, and speaheading operational initiatives. You will be working closely and reporting to the Country GM; in ensuring operational initiatives are always aligned with country strategy. This position calls for someone who is able to operate under pressure, is a self-starter, with extensive experience in growing business operations, and with a proven track record in strategizing and executing initiatives with a team. The Head of Ops will be obsessed with driving real tangible impact, to either optimize for efficiency or effectiveness. This person rises to the highest of standards, and looks at challenges as a means for opportunity to improve the business. The Head of Ops will be comfortable with looking closely into the details of our business operations; and solving problems, yet at the same time be able to look at the big picture of how initiatives are sitting in the wider context of our country strategy. This person will be very comfortable with analyzing business metrics, is a critical thinker, go-getter, highly collaborative, and also a strong leader. It is an opportunity to drive real business impact in the exciting world of micromobility in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • To keep a tight lid on the operations of Beam MY, and has a finger on the pulse of the many different moving parts of the operations in Beam MY.
  • To query out relevant data via SQL, accurately and quickly, for business analysis purposes.
  • Analyzing operational metrics, business P&L, and reviewing trends against the MY's Ops Strategy - to formulate relevant problem statements, appropriate solutions, and driving execution with the operations team in an organized manner.
  • Managing the day-to-day of MY's ops ensuring operational excellence.
  • He / she should be able to optimize and engineer processes relevant to driving efficiency & effectiveness.
  • Manage and lead the core operations team in driving strategic initiatives.
  • He / she will be charged to driving the execution of identified initiatives together with the team.
  • Oversee core & the wider ground operations team; ensuring excellence in efficiency & effectiveness across the entire operational chain.
  • Maintaining a tight alignment between operations, and the wider country strategy as set by the Country GM.
  • He / she will need to be able to move cohesively with the country management in an agile manners, as required by the nature of the industry we are in.
  • To inculcate the highest standards of professionalism, team cohesion, and high-impact culture within the operations team.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing business operations and a business' P&L, within the tech industry.
  • High competency in SQL is a must. Is highly inquisitive and competent in analyzing Business Performance metrics; identifying trends, defining an appropriate problem statement, and delivering an effective / efficient solution accordingly.
  • Demonstrates strategic & critical thinking skills in problem solving and also executing initiatives.
  • Experience in managing a team, and demonstrating competent leadership qualities.
  • Experience in working with Country Managers / GMs is ideal.
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written), including the ability to convey complex concepts both verbally and in writing in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to organize, plan and implement strategic operational initiatives, manage competing demands and work under the pressure of frequent and tight deadlines.
  • Executional skills are important.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage stress effectively, & adapt to handle the ambiguity of the operational environment.
  • Is a go-getter, highly passionate, and collaboratively independent. Holds him / herself to the highest of standards.
