About the job

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director - Infrastructure to lead our AWS Cloud Operations, Data Centre & Network Operations, and DevOps Practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing cloud infrastructure, data centre operations, network management, and DevOps methodologies. As the Senior IT Director, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of our IT operations, ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of our technology infrastructure, and leading a team of talented IT professionals.

What will you be responsible for?

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for AWS cloud operations, data center & network operations, and DevOps practice, aligned with the company's business objectives.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Lead the management of our data center operations, including server provisioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting, to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Manage network operations, including LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity, to ensure seamless and secure communication across our organization.
• Build and lead a high-performing DevOps team, responsible for automating deployment, monitoring, and management processes to accelerate software delivery and improve operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in managing different types of databases, including relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Implementing security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data.
• Establishing policies and procedures for data governance, including data quality, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.
• Leveraging cloud-based database services (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL) for scalability, reliability, and managed backups.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their technology requirements and provide scalable and cost-effective solutions.
• Encouraging a culture of experimentation and innovation to drive continuous improvement within the organization.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies to effectively plan, execute, and monitor IT projects.
• Experience in coaching and developing team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
• Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Stay current with AWS best practices, emerging technologies, and DevOps trends, and recommend strategies for adoption to drive innovation and competitiveness.
• Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships effectively to achieve cost-effective solutions and maximize ROI.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of our IT infrastructure.

What are we looking for ?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 18+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on AWS cloud operations, data center & network operations, and DevOps practices.
• Strong technical background with expertise in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Route 53, CloudFront CloudFormation), network infrastructure, and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Code Deploy, AWS Code Pipeline) and Collaboration Tools: Git, GitLab, GitHub& Scripting Languages: Python, Shell scripting (Bash).
• Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable IT initiatives.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
