Responsibilities

  • Lead Reliability Engineer efforts with each product team, supporting design reliability (predictive analysis and proactive failure modes and effects analysis), validation and qualification testing, production acceptance testing requirements, and fielding.
  • Work with the team to analyze test results and field data to identify opportunities for improvement in product design, manufacturing processes, operations and maintenance procedures.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety principles and best practices.
  • Lead Maintainability efforts with each product team such as predictive maintenance analysis, preventive maintenance procedure development, operational performance and metrics trend reviews, and have a stake in MRO (maintenance repair and operations) system infrastructure development across the business.
  • Lead System Safety efforts with each product team such as FHA (functional hazard analysis), Fault Tree, SCFTA (Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis), and SSA (System Safety Assessments)
  • Support the Design Requirements Process as a Subject Matter Expert to ensure teams adhere to our Hardware Design Best Practices, and Analysis best practices.
  • Lead, draft, and tailor Validation Test Plans and Qualification Test Plans with support from design team and execute with Test Engineer(s) for new products.
  • Support Development Milestone Reviews such as Drawing Reviews, PDR, CDR, QDR, and support the production hand off process with Quality Engineering.
  • Lead root cause analysis/failure investigation, and corrective action for issues found during R&D and Qualification testing alongside the Development, Quality and Test Engineering Teams.
  • Lead acceptance test requirements for production and partner with Quality Engineering for incorporating into the end to end assembly plan.
  • Lead development of preventive maintenance plans for all product variants and host regular metrics reviews to highlight key problem areas for deployed products.
  • Propose and coordinate corrective actions to closure, while acting as the lead liaison to close all communication feedback loops between the FSR Team and the Electrical Engineering Teams.
  • Host regular corrective action reviews to ensure lessons learned are communicated with all stakeholders, and that all actions have been implemented in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years Industry Experience as a Reliability Engineer, Design Engineer, Development Engineer, or Test Engineer
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering
  • Experience working on Advanced Hardware Systems, autonomous ground systems, and complex electronics systems.
  • Experience with Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis Methodologies, Corrective Action Management, and Risk management.
  • Experience outlining test plan requirements.
  • Preferred but not required: Hands on Test Engineering Experience, HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing), Environmental Testing, and/or Mechanical Loads Testing Experience, Maritime Operations Experience, Technical writing experience developing standards, specifications, user guides, and policies, and Requirements decomposition experience.
