Manufacturing Manager

Central Michigan company needs a Manufacturing Manager to coordinate activities in several departments. Manage processes, initiate trainings that improve product quality, improve product and employee safety, and reduce production costs. This is a confidential job opening.

• Conduct studies to maximize workflow and process utilization.
• Work on continuous improvement projects that improve safety.
• Work with employees and the union to solve problems and improve communications
• Manage by walking around. Maintain visibility on the production floor.
• Participate in product launches
• Work on plant layout and process improvement projects
• Review production reports and solve manufacturing and equipment problems.
• Seek opportunities for improvements in product and process quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a four-year degree in a similar field is required.
• Eight years’ experience working in manufacturing, and specifically in the manufacturing or assembly of electromechanical devices. Management experience is required.
• Some experience or knowledge about automation and PLC's, in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
