What We Seek:

We are looking for passionate entrepreneurs with first-hand knowledge of the problem they have encountered or entrepreneurs that might match to a problem or idea we already have. It’s not a mandate, but ideally, we want people with experience solving business problems and have a keen eye for anticipating business risks. We are looking for a sound business leader who has built a company from 0 to 1 or a product manager running a product or built a product line from scratch before. We desire entrepreneurs who can hire great people, get others excited about their vision, raise capital, and make it all happen.

About FreightGenius:

The freight brokerage industry has exploded in recent years, growing from a mere 6% to over 20% of US truck freight in just a decade, now valued at $21 billion. Freight brokers typically allocate up to 90% of their time to operational back-office tasks, leaving only 10% for revenue-generating activities (depending on the business model). By combining AI with human oversight, we can streamline these back-office processes, driving significant operational efficiencies. The industry's profit margins have recently contracted from 20% to 5%, underscoring the critical need for cost reduction. We believe that the perfect storm of industry challenges and AI maturity presents a venture scale opportunity to revolutionize the freight brokerage sector and the broader freight/supply chain industry.

What you will be doing:

• The FIR will work with the AI Fund and Dynamo to launch and scale new businesses from the ground up. If you're obsessed with startups and building exceptional products this role is for you
• Work alongside our Venture Studio team to iteratively research and validate on a problem to solve that can benefit from AI/ML. This includes idea validation, product validation, market validation, and funding validation
• Develop a product and prototype it
• Set the vision and the strategy of the portfolio company once the idea has been tested and determined product market fit
• If all makes sense, we capitalize the company to help you stand the company up, bring in the best talent, build the product, and get pilot customers

What you must bring:

• Prior startup founder, or experience working at an early stage tech companyIntegral part of building technology companies from 0 to 1
• Domain expertise in freight forwarding operations
• Strategic thinkingSelf-starter who will thrive in an ambiguous startup environment
• Competitive, entrepreneurial mindset
• Demonstrated experience building products and leading teams
• Demonstrated track record of success
• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to recruit great team members
• Demonstrated ability to fundraise
• B2B SaaS Experience
• A commercially-minded, engaging leader who excels in challenging sales conversations, makes quick, decisive, and data-informed decisions to generate results, and is a proactive doer
• Experience selling to antiquated industries w/ long-standing processes and entrenched behaviors; supply chain being ideal

Nice to have:

• Experience managing a cross border workforce or outsourced workforce
• Experience building a solution with a lot of integrated systems
• Product management or technical background
• Successfully raised funds from previous experience
