Scope of Position

The Business Manager serves as primary manager of processes and systems deemed critical to achieving effective and efficient operations of the department. Business Manager will guide the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of daily functions consisting of but not limited to: responding to the requests for information of the office and/or team members, managing all transportation/travel requests and reimbursements, payroll/timekeeping, personnel calendars and complex scheduling and coordination relative to executive leadership.

The position assists and administers, analyzes, and tracks monthly departmental expenditures and is responsible for providing insight and recommendations to the annual departmental budget for supplies, equipment, capital requests, and services.

The position will manage all delegated onboarding for physicians and providers delivering surgical services in the James. The Business Manager will run, analyze, and trend perioperative activity and will be responsible for maintaining and managing activity dashboards and regular report outs. Business Manager will manage the planning and execution of special projects to include and not limited to: continuing education conferences, promotional community events, physician engagement luncheons and dinners, town halls, OR committee meetings, block scheduling meeting, cabinet meetings, west campus planning, CSS off site planning, and executive leadership meetings, etc.

Position Summary

The Business Manager works under the general supervision of the departmental directors performing vital services on behalf of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center & The James Cancer Hospital. Works collaboratively with a multitude of internal departments and divisions as well as external constituents and key stakeholders to ensure the execution of the day-to-day operations of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelorโ€™s degree in business administration, health care administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated strong organizational skills; sound judgement; prior delegated credentialing experience; high familiarity with financial systems and controls; comfort working with senior level management and building and sustaining positive relationships; exhibit high levels of professionalism and ability to be discreet with sensitive information; strong attention to detail and time management skills. Outstanding written and oral communication; be self-motivated, and serve as a team player. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Power Point.
