Job Description:

This Postdoctoral Researcher will assist in the mission of LSU Coupled Ocean Modeling Group, including the conduct of external grant projects, providing professional support in managing large multidisciplinary projects that focus on approaches to the development of a Gulf of Mexico oceanography model with a focus on dynamically coupling between hydrological and ocean model; Collaborate with other on-campus groups, such as CCT and other centers working with the Coupled Ocean Modeling Group; and attend and present at national and international conferences.

Job Responsibilities:

50% Conduct research that focuses on approaches to the development of land-ocean coupling using WRF-Hydro and ROMS on the platform of COAWST model. Manage data acquisition responsibilities and collaborate with other on-campus groups to meet the programming needs associated with their research. Attend and present at national and international conferences.

30% Develop peer-reviewed journal manuscripts and contribute to the development of research proposals.

15% Will mentor graduate students and assist the students with conference presentation preparation and manuscript development.

5% Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in Oceanography, Marine Science or related major.

Specific Experience:

Experience with numerical modeling wand a high-performance computation background is a must.
