We have an exciting, new opportunity for a Head of Commercial, Specialty Care to join Norgine in our Sydney office ~ located in Frenchs Forest on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This position reports to the General Manager ANZ and is a member of the ANZ Leadership team.

The core responsibility of the Head of Commercial ~ Specialty Care, is to lead strategic sales and marketing initiatives across the Australia and New Zealand business in specialty care and primary care offerings. The role demands strategic leadership, effective team management, and a dedicated focus on achieving launch excellence, market growth and financial goals in alignment with Norgine’s broader corporate objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Sales and Marketing Excellence:

  • Propelling commercial activities to meet or exceed annual revenue targets by developing and executing innovative marketing and sales strategies specific to the market.

Product Launch and Management:

  • Managing the launch processes for new products to ensure effective market entry, rapid uptake, and robust establishment within the healthcare system.

Market Access & Public Affairs Collaboration:

  • Collaborating closely with key Market Access & Public Affairs departments (internally & externally) to negotiate and secure optimal reimbursement and placement for Norgine’s products.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with external key stakeholders, including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, government agencies, public affairs bodies and patient advocacy groups, to enhance Norgine’s market presence and product acceptance.

Norgine Matrix Stakeholder Engagement ~ Local & Global:

  • Cultivating and maintaining strong, positive and collaborative relationships with internal key stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Compliance/Business Integrity, Regulatory Affairs, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Global Brand teams, Sales, Marketing, Administration, Market Access, Public Affairs, HR, Finance and the GM.

Performance Metrics and Market Analysis:

  • Establishing, identifying appropriate KPI’s and continuously monitoring market dynamics, competitor activities, and product performance, adjusting strategies to maximise market share and launch uptake.

Budget Management:

  • Managing and overseeing budgets for commercial projects and customer-related activities, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and financial sustainability with full P&L responsibility.

Requirements

  • Extensive senior-level experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing, particularly in the primary care and specialist areas, with a demonstrated track record of strategic commercial leadership.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare system, including knowledge of attaining hospital protocol and formulary listings and the broader healthcare landscape.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • High-level Pharmaceutical Marketing and Sales profile (eg. Business, MBA) with strong people leadership experience
  • Ability to positively collaborate and contribute within a matrix organisation
  • Proven capacity to role model, lead, coach, develop and inspire teams towards common business objectives
  • Effective communication skills including mastery of the English language
  • Strong ability to analyse complex situations and make informed decisions
  • Ability to plan own work, meet deadlines and work with a can-do problem-solving attitude
  • Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare area
  • Willingness to travel, both in Australia/New Zealand and internationally (Europe)
