We provide our software to lottery operators within the Allwyn Group, including the UK National Lottery and the Illinois State Lottery, and outside of the group to the Irish lottery. We’re looking for a passionate individual to join our Product Management team, with a focus on coordinating the early stages of new product innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

Ideation, Innovation and Research

  • Structures investigations and research activities by defining problems that are worth solving, identifying KPIs and ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy and vision.
  • Coordinates and executes the discovery and ideation process of new products and services by working across design, research, product, architecture and engineering capabilities, whilst taking guidance from subject matter experts.
  • Leads brainstorming sessions or workshops to generate new ideas and elicit requirements.
  • Identifies knowledge gaps and conducts or initiates research (business, customer or data analysis) to better understand Lottery customer or player needs. Analyses and draws insights from research findings, converting them into actionable improvements of the product.

Product Strategy & Business Case Development

  • Significantly contributes to the strategy of specific products and services, producing artefacts and presenting material to gain support from senior stakeholders.
  • Stays informed on industry trends, competitor capabilities, and market successes to enhance our strategic positioning.
  • Produces business cases for new initiatives and feature developments.
  • Showcases our products and conducts product presentations to existing customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and metrics, performing cost-benefit analysis using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, and specialised software.
  • Analytical thinking to evaluate both quantitative and qualitative factors in the cost-benefit analysis. Experience in performing scenario and sensitivity analysis to evaluate different project outcomes.
  • Expertise in creating comprehensive reports to communicate cost-benefit analysis findings to stakeholders.

Expertise and Guidance

  • Provides insights and guidance on current trends and advancements in the industry to maintain and enhance our market position.
  • Works with lottery customers to solve problems and ensure that AWLS products are implemented successfully to meet business objectives.
  • Acts as a B2C expert, championing the needs of customers and contributing ideas that are backed by a wealth of prior commercial experience.

Product Development

  • Contributes to the product roadmap for specific products, with an initial focus on innovation and improvements.
  • Champions and balances the interests of internal stakeholders, AWLS’s Lottery customers and the end users of our products.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and legal regulations. Advocates for responsible gaming practices and upholds company values in all product strategies and implementations.
  • Acts as ambassador for the product internally and externally

  • Encourages a culture of innovation, collaboration and inspires enthusiasm towards innovation.
  • Understands the need for effective relationships. Manages relationships across AWLS, customers and suppliers.
  • Capable of presenting product strategies and the product vision to senior stakeholders and the wider team in a succinct and cohesive way, ensuring that buy-in and common understanding is achieved at all levels.
  • Works effectively across and between organisations and locations to enhance transparency and facilitate direct communication between technical and non-technical team members.

Complexity

  • Uses a range of tools, techniques and visual aids such as diagrams, process flows and concept wireframes to gather information on a complex subject area, and presents a clear and concise summary.
  • Artefacts created have a measurable impact on comprehension across delivery and customer teams, facilitating a smooth and efficient analysis and scoping process.
  • Confident in abstracting information to be consumed by technical or non-technical audiences.
  • Can drive progress whilst requiring minimal oversight.

Technical understanding

  • Has a competent understanding of web and mobile technologies and complex transactional systems.

Data Analysis and Insight Generation:

  • Expertise in conducting data analysis to derive actionable insights for product improvement, using tools such as Survey Monkey, usertesting.com, Google Analytics, Aha, HotJar, Tableau, or others.
  • Ability to convert research findings into practical product enhancements.

Organisational

  • Develops research and discovery plans, defines scope and objectives, and sets timelines and milestones.
  • Leads research and discovery project execution, coordinating with various teams to ensure the project is completed on time and within scope

Requirements

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a software Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst or other related disciplines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a complex transactional B2C environment (5+ years)
  • Proven experience in managing software discovery and research projects, leading to the creation of prototypes and concepts.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching complex products, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of market trends and customer behaviors.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working in a software consulting firm or software delivery organisation
